Executive MBA and Executive Education Fair

The Executive MBA and Executive Education Fair organised by Begin Group was held October 7th in Moscow and October 10th in Saint Petersburg. The Fair was attended by over 200 people interested in executive education programmes in Russian and western business schools – company directors, top and line managers.

The Fair was participated by such global leaders in business education as:

  • University of Chicago Booth School of Business
  • Duke University's Fuqua School of Business
  • IE Business School
  • Cass Business School
  • Kellogg-WHU EMBA Program
  • TRIUM EMBA
  • Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and a number of others.

Russian EMBA programmes were represented by:

  • Graduate School of International Business at the Academy of National Economy (ANE) under the Government of the Russian Federation
  • Institute of Business Studies (IBS-Moscow) at the ANE
  • Graduate School of Business Administration at the Lomonosov Moscow State University
  • Graduate School of Management at the State University – Higher School of Economics
  • Graduate School of Management at the Saint Petersburg State University
  • Moscow International Higher Business School MIRBIS
  • Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics
  • Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics
  • Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation
  • Higher School of Economics at the Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance
  • International Banking Institute
  • International Management Institute Saint Petersburg and others.

Today an increasingly distinct separation of Executive MBA programmes into an independent segment of the business education market is seen. In western schools the term "executive" is becoming synonymic to distant programmes when students can undergo training without having to leave their jobs. These programmes are often designed for middle managers with 3 years of management experience (instead of the usual for such programmes 5 years). These programmes generally consist of several on-campus modules lasting from several days to several weeks per semester. Total duration of training is 1.5 years in western EMBA programmes and 2 years in Russian ones.

In the framework of the Moscow Fair, apart from already traditional presentations by business schools, a discussion panel with the participation of graduates of leading foreign EMBA programmes was held. Graduates of Duke, Kellogg, as well as of a joint programme by Kingston University and the Academy of National Economy told about their learning experience, the knowledge and skills they gained at EMBA programmes and how they apply it in practical work.
