Russia has simplified the procedure for the recognition of foreign university' diplomas
06.12.2011
The law will simplify the procedure for the recognition of foreign diplomas, graduate degrees and scientific ranks. Moreover, the law should make the Russian science and education more accessible to foreign experts.
Particularly, it is suggested to recognize documents of the foreign states on education or training, covered under the international agreement on mutual recognition and equivalence without any additional procedures. Diplomas given by leading foreign educational establishments will be recognized the same way. Their list will be specified by the Russian cabinet of ministers.
In another case, recognition of the foreign state educational documents will be performed by the federal executive authority responsible for control and supervision in the field of education according to the citizens' statements.
Recognition of the foreign states' educational documents is legislatively fixed in Russian Federation for the fist time.
The law will promote international academic mobility and the competitiveness of Russian science and education.
